Entry 2.0

I wasn't planning on redoing our front entry area. But, one night when we were walking the dog our neighbors had a bunch of free stuff in their yard, including some generic-looking metal patio chairs. Ever since we moved into our 1950s house, I wanted some vintage-looking patio chairs in a really bright color. I searched casually for some cheap bouncer chairs in need of TLC but had no luck. So, when these freebies became available, we grabbed them.

We spray painted the dark green chairs with a nice bright aqua blue and planted some new plants in a couple of pots and planters that I had around. Early in the spring I purchased some funky fabric from IKEA for pillows for our back patio furniture, but decided not to use it. The fabric went perfectly with our new aqua blue chairs and lime green pots, so I decided to make a pillow. I purchased some matte iron-on vinyl from the fabric store to make the fabric waterproof. It's a little weird having vinyl pillows, but I think that it adds a nice vintage touch. Eventually, I will add another pillow. The Before and After are below and more pics here.

In other news, you can see that the PBP has a new look. It's a work in progress, but I hope to have it complete very soon!
