Happy Birthday, Orzo!
This sad little kitty baby is what we scooped up from Manor Road one year ago today. She was in such a sad state -- malnourished, dehydrated and saw her sibling run over by a car. On top of that, she had friends -- maggots (ever wonder where the name Orzo came from). The vet said he wasn't sure she'd make it. But, she did! Now, she's a lovely, large kitty that is loving life and the new kitty door. I think we have a lot to learn from her.

Monday Morning Fuzzy Funny
Good morning! I think that everyone needs a little funny fuzzy today. Can you imagine over 50 off-leash golden retrievers loose on a farm with a nice swimming hole? Well, that is how we spent the early part of Saturday. Gold Ribbon Rescue, the group where we adopted Hurley, had their annual Swimfest and it was all the wags, dirty paws and a wet-dog fun that you can imagine. Here's just a taste of the event. I have no idea where Hurley is in the sea of goldens. Enjoy!

Weekend of Fuzz
Our weekends are usually full of fuzz. In fact, we spend a good part of every weekend cleaning up fuzz from our floors. But, we had a golden fuzz-filled weekend at the Gold Ribbon Rescue Annual Picnic. GRR is a Golden Retriever rescue group in Central Texas. We adopted Hurley last year from this group and we wanted to help the organization that helped bring so much joy (and much more fuzz) into our lives. We ate hot dogs, participated in the parade of adopted goldens and Hurley got his nails done. It was a blast and hard not to come home with another puppy!You can see more photos here.
